Foods of the Neutral Group According to the Hay Diet

Hay was an American doctor according to whom carbs and protein should not be combined in one meal. The foods on this list, according to him, are recommendable foods of the neutral group, meaning they may be combined with either carbs or protein. While some of these foods such as vegetables or nuts may indeed be considered healthy, others are rather not to be consumed in bigger amounts, such as butter, bacon, or salt. In addition, there is in fact no scientific evidence that might prove that carbs and protein should not be mixed; besides, some of the foods on this list do in fact contain a considerable amount of carbs and/or protein.
