Raptors of North America

Raptors - the diurnal birds of prey - are some of the most fascinating and charismatic of all birds. Included in this list are all the birds in the families Cathartidae (New World vultures), Pandionidae (Osprey), Accipitridae (hawks and eagles), and Falconidae (falcons) that regularly nest in the ABA area, defined as the US lower 48 and Alaska, plus Canada, though I've also included the Hawaiian Hawk since it's the only addition from the otherwise biologically separate 50th state. I haven't included rare visitors from Asia (such as Steller's Sea-Eagle) or Mexico (such as Roadside Hawk). I considered including owls in this list, but ultimately decided that they're unique enough to get their own list in the future. Have fun!
