Morg Lorgland's 2021 Aspirant Summer Reading - Page 2

(The thumbnail art's by Satchely and VelinquenT.)
It's that time of year again. Birds are chirping, flora grow verdant, and summer stalks round the corner. So we must have a two thousand twenty-one aspirant list of warm-weather reading. I think there's a kind of magic to books in the summertime, don't you? Somehow it recalls childhood. The time of year many of us would least want or need a book --- the day is so splendid --- is made all the more decadent. A dryad in the stacks. Plus it's too turgid or hot to crack open a spine and stay focused, yet we do it anyway. I think it's the defiance of reading in summer which gives it a special charm.
Happy pages to you.
