2022 was a year of phenomenal telly. From the epic scale of debuts like Rings of Power and House of the Dragon (which people quickly realised were, in fact, different shows) as well as the more intimate introduction of shows like Severance and The Bear. We also welcomed back the likes of Stranger Things, which completely broke the internet and catapulted Kate Bush back into the cultural stratosphere, and The White Lotus, while we bid a final farewell to staples like Derry Girls and Better Call Saul. But within the enormity of this great slate of offerings is the excellence of its minutiae. To put it plainly, you can't have great TV without great episodes.
