In 1962, Jack Kirby and Stan Lee would introduce The Mighty Thor, a superhero version of the Norse god of thunder. While never the biggest seller, he managed to find a cult following who found his pho-Shakespearian speech charming and his science-fantasy adventures thrilling. He would go on to join and serve as a core member of the Avengers for many year. His own book, meanwhile, would have many different creators over the years, like Walter Simonson and an early Warren Ellis.
Sadly, the book would be cancelled in 1996 to make way for the misguided "Heroes Reborn" line, which would be cancelled after a year...
