Sequels That Ignore Other Sequels

When a franchise goes off the rails, sometimes a studio tries not a full reboot, but rather a sequel that ignores the less well received sequels that came before it. The most recent example is Terminator: Dark Fate, ignoring all but the first two.
Exorcist III ignores Exorcist II, Dominion ignores Exorcist The Beginning
H20 ignores Halloween III, IV, V and VI
Halloween (2018) ignores all but the original.
Highlander 3 ignores 2, Endgame ignores all but the original and the TV series (I think? it's convoluted)
Jaws 4 ignores 3.
Leprechaun Returns is a direct sequel to the original movie.
Nightmare 3 ignores 2.
Godzilla Returns acts as a direct sequel to the original Godzilla, ignoring all the films inbetween.
Return of the Pink Panther ignores Inspector Clouseau
Superman Returns ignores Superman III, IV, and Supergirl
Terminator Dark Fate ignores 3, Salvation and Genisys
Texas Chainsaw 3D ignores all but the original
Universal Soldier Returns ignores all but the first.
