Markd9528's Onerous Self Challenge: 4 Books Per Letter, Single Word Titles - And Harder!

Onerous in terms of preparing it rather than completing it. However it should still achieve its purpose of broadening my reading horizons. BTW, I am not starting this from scratch, as you will see.
Rules:
--- 4 Books per letter of the alphabet
--- at least one book per letter is a work in translation
--- 4 different authors per letter
--- Single word titles only
--- All unread books must be completed by the end of 2023 (so a bit like a TBR).
I reserve the right to swap in an alternative book if I can't source one of the books specified in the list.
