There are approximately 800 bird species divided amongst about 80 familial groupings in the ABA Area - Alaska, Canada, and the lower 48 states. How many of those bird families have you seen? This is not a comprehensive list; I've included some exotic families (parrots, bulbul, munia) and excluded some very rare strays (sungrebe, hoopoe, accentors, etc.).
