20 Best Japanese Movies Ghost Has Seen

Continuing my series of best movies from various countries--bumping it up to 20 best films, on account of I've seen far more Japanese films than the previous three entries (Germany, Italy, Hong Kong)--mostly samurai and kaiju films, with a fair smattering of ghost stories and various dramas. I am way behind on Yasujirō Ozu films, and there's a few Mizoguchi's I still need to see, so I'm sure this list will be different a year from now, when I plan to update it.
List image from Tampopo, the best ramen western movie ever made, and a movie I simply can't get enough of.
