Worst Book: "The Long Corner," Alexander Maksik (no, you haven't heard of it, and there's a reason for that)
Best Horror: "Shutter," Ramona Emerson (National Book Award finalist!)
Worst Horror: "String Follow," Simon Jacobs (needed more spatter - I wanted the characters to suffer)
Best History: "Traitor to his Class," H.W. Brands (that's how you run a country, mofos)
Worst History: "American Heiress," Jeffrey Toobin (dude, get a grip on yourself . . . oh, wait, you already did . . .)
Best Thriller: "Reckless Girls," Rachel Hawkins (A "Girl" book, but so what?)
Best Short Story Collection: "A Registry of My Passage the Earth," Daniel Mason (historical fiction!)
Most Inexplicable Prize Winner: "The Rabbit Hutch,"
