This list is being posted during the 50th Anniversary of the 1967 Film Year. 1967 was a pivotal year for American films. Films such as "The Graduate" and "Bonnie and Clyde" ushered in a new era in American film. They signaled the beginning of the auteur-driven "New Hollywood" period that would last through 1976. It was also a major year for international films with important films by Godard, Bunuel, Bresson, Demy, and Rohmer among others. The biggest box-office star of 1967 was Sidney Poitier who had three massive hits with "To Sir, With Love," "In the Heat of the Night," and "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." The busiest performer of 1967 appears to be Turkish actress Fatma Girik who appeared in 13 different films. This fairly comprehensive list includes mainstream U.S. feature films, exploitation films, foreign films, short subjects, documentaries, theatrical cartoons, avant-garde / experimental films, promotional films, and even a few industrial films.
