The Best Western Film of Each Year (1939-2022)

I like Westerns. Starting the classic Ford/Wayne "Stagecoach," here's a personal list of the best from each year since 1939. Some years have slim pickings (hence 2009, and some made for TV movies in the 1980s) while other years are stacked (see 1948, 1966 & 2010!). I also included the hugely influential TV miniseries Lonesome Dove for 1989, which helped revive the 'dead' Western genre. Enjoy!
