Matthew Sheldon's Top 30 Greatest Westerns

The western has always been one of my favorite genres in cinema. Whether it's director John Ford shooting up there in Monument Valley with John Wayne (the Duke), or its Clint Eastwood (the man with no name) acting in one of his Spaghetti westerns in Spain or Italy by Italian filmmaker Sergio Leone, the western has been with cinema since the beginning. And like the samurai genre in the East, the American western in the West will always be one of my most cherished genres.
