Markd9528's Compelling And/Or Comforting Classic Collection - Page 8

This is a more light-hearted, humorous and heart -warming selection of works than are usually seen in my challenges. But there's still a good dose of murder mysteries, SF, medical drama, thrillers and adventurous exploits (both swash-buckling romances and otherwise). Lots of these books have been turned into great movies.
Some of these works are derived from reference books such as "The Modern Library: The Two Hundred Best Novels in English Since 1950", along with recommendations by JN, better known as 'The English Teacher. Many are by my own favourite authors
BUT
about half are a small subset of the excellent challenges of 'Dodger's Song', specifically "Let Me Live at the Library" (at the link), "Books About Books" & "Waiting on the Shelf."
Mind you, there is a good deal of consensus among at least 2 of the sources about these books being worthwhile reads.
