Legends & Tales of the World-British & Celtic - Page 2

This is only a sampling of the many books available on the fairy tales, folk tales, ghost stories, myths & legends of Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales & France's province of Brittany. Every county, shire & island have their own stories, so I tried to include as much as I could. The History Press seems to specialize in this (which is why I listed a lot of books by them) so check their website for more. I also included some novels like The Mists of Avalon & travel guidebooks if you want to visit places like Loch Ness, Newgrange, Stonehenge or Tintatagel. If you go to London, author Richard Jones conducts walking tours of haunted places, as well as Jack the Ripper (who I didn't cover as his murders were real), Sherlock Holmes, Dickens, Beatles & Harry Potter. My dad was from Birkenhead (across the Mersey from Liverpool) so I hope to someday visit the British Isles. I'd love to see Anne Boleyn walk 'with her head tucked underneath her arm' or catch a glimpse of Nessie.
