This series is based on A Girl's Guide to Good Movies (https://www.listchallenges.com/girls-guide-to-good-movies). I picked 40 movies per year that portray women in an interesting light. Unfortunately, in some years women are just props without thought or motivation (the 1970's were especially unkind). And yet there's always the heyday of Hollywood when the biggest box office stars were female. Jean Arthur, Judy Garland, Joan Fontaine, Olivia De Havilland, Betty Grable, Bette Davis, Greer Garson and Claudette Colbert... thank you for existing in all your complex glory.
