Films Umbrellas Saw in December 2019

These are all the films I saw in December, ranked in order of how much I liked them (most liked first). It seems I have a particular fondness for Billy Wilder, but I can happily recommend any in the top 40 or so, and there were a few big positive surprises (Therese Raquin, Payday, Bad Santa). As is often the case I found 'slow cinema' representatives to be the least appealing, but if you like some pretty photography with nothing happening then even the bottom 2 might be for you. Personally though I find Bela Tarr unwatchable, and Certified Copy is the only Kiarostami film I've seen so far that I thought was any good.
