Dan Brown's controversial bestseller "The Da Vinci Code" became a big hit on screen, & Brandon Routh("Arrow") first played a superhero in "Superman Returns". "Hostel" upped the gruesomeness for horror, while "V for Vendetta" started a trend in Guy Fawkes masks. Daniel Craig reinvigorated the Bond franchise with "Casino Royale", while the Chinese gangster classic "Infernal Affairs" was brilliantly remade as "The Departed". A lot of sequels this year from "Underworld:Evolution" to "Rocky Balboa", remakes too with Steve Martin's "The Pink Panther" & a live-action version of "Charlotte's Web", to "Poseidon" & "Black Christmas". Larry the Cable Guy hit the big screen as a "Health Inspector", but did much better as the voice of Mater in "Cars". We had 2 duelling magician films with "The Prestige" & "The Illusionist", while Samuel L. Jackson fought "Snakes on a Plane". Other notable films-"Pan's Labyrinth", "The Queen", "Apocalypto", "Borat", "Babel", "Inside Man" & "Dreamgirls".
