July 2022 was looking to be my biggest film watching month yet until I needed to handle some business that I let pile up for several months on end. It's my fault that the last 10 or so days of the month were devoted to cleaning up the mess I started. I feel ashamed of myself and I need to take a different approach to life if I want to amount to anything after I'm finished with school.
Even though July wasn't as great as it could've been, seeing 39 titles in 19 days is no slouch (though not as much as Chadman or Adam)! These are the five best films I saw this month, as well as an honorable mention:
1. F for Fake (Orson Welles, 1973)
2. Something Wild (Jonathan Demme, 1986)
3. A Nos Amours (Maurice Pialat, 1983)
4. Le Samourai (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1967)
5. Sullivan's Travels (Preston Sturges, 1941)
HM. The Wind Will Carry Us (Abbas Kiarostami, 1999)
