Coral Species
As much as corals may look like undersea cactus, they are in fact animals. Unlike plants, corals do not produce their own food. Tiny microscopic tentacles draw floating prey into their teeny-weeny, itsy-bitsy mouths. They are rooted to the sea floor, so it is understandable that so many people mistakenly believe corals are plants. Every species of coral comes in a rainbow of colors and no color is exclusive to any species. Therefore, I have presented only beiges so you can mark the differences in texture and basically ignore color. Which hurts me to do since the extraordinary purples, pinks, blues, greens, oranges, yellows, and reds just scream: "take a photo of me, you fool!!!!"
