Classical Education

Classical education used to mean learning the ancient Greek and Roman classics in their original languages. The education taught you to read, write, and speak ancient Latin and Greek. That is no longer the case today. Many people don't have any idea what books to read to actually get a classical education and the overall debate on what to read varies from place to place. Thankfully many texts are now in English. Listed are 100 books that should prove useful in giving ones self a classical education of sorts. It is not exhaustive and relies heavily on ancient Greek and Roman classics but also includes other books that have attained classical status from different periods or eras. I deeply hope that this list may provide something more concrete for those looking to self-educate themselves in a somewhat classical fashion or at least as close as a regular person can get on their own today.
