CBR's 10 Best Movies That Launched a Genre

Description from Comic Book Resources' site:
"In the wildly competitive film industry, the desire to do something better is always strong. By attempting to stand out, rake in more profits, and get more acclaim, a number of filmmakers have ended up making projects that launched entirely new genres or sub-genres. The formation of new genres sometimes happens as a result of the heterogeneous collection of components from other movies. At other times, it's simply the directors going out of their way to create something new. Whatever the case, some movies are fondly remembered for doing all the spadework and making the ground clear for others."
