If you haven't read many Aussie books, you can think of this series of challenges as an introduction to some great, mostly contemporary, literature from 'Down Under'.
Books 1-7 are discussed at some length on the third and final episode of the ABCTV (Australia) documentary series "Books That Made Us". This episode 'delves into power - its abuse and misuse in our stories'. The broadcast includes interviews with the authors of these 7 works.
The remaining books on the list are further recommended works by indigenous authors and are briefly featured on the program. Most of these works were written before the B.L.M. movement came to prominence.
