Blunderman Presents: 12 Directors of the Cinematic Revolution

Having looked at some of the greatest films of each period of cinema, let's look at the filmmakers responsible for them.
This list includes twelve of the defining filmmakers who changed the film industry throughout the 1960s all the way to the mid 90s. Each is represented by two of their films that I have seen. This list includes: the kings of the gangster genre, who defied the censors in their portrayals of violence and profanity; the father of the Summer Blockbuster; one of the most legendary figures in the French New Wave; two defining names of 1980s cinema (in action sci-fi and comedy, respectively); and the man responsible for the film that revolutionized special effects and merchandising as well as launching the biggest franchise ever.
