A History of American Literature Part Six: Secession and Loyalty - Page 2

These are books, most of which were published in the mid and late 19th century, that are discussed in Chapter 6 of "From Puritanism to Postmodernism: A History of American Literature". Chapter 6 is within the section "Native and Cosmopolitan Crosscurrents: From Local Color to Realism and Naturalism". I think some of the works on this list will have folks wishing sentimentally for the good ol' days.
This is the 6th instalment of a maximum of eleven. The instalments are being published in more or less reverse chronological order.
