Part 9 of my multi-part series.

Cartoon Network's late-night programming block launched in 2001 with surreal comedies inspired by Space Ghost Coast to Coast (which started on regular Cartoon Network in 1994 and continued on AS). It was also the biggest place to watch anime in America before the advent of streaming. In 2012 the Adult Swim Action block was changed to a revived Toonami, following the original block's cancellation in 2008.
