300 of the Best Animated Shows of All Time, Part 8 of 10: Netflix

Part 8 of my multi-part series.
Netflix launched in 1997 as a mail-order DVD rental service with a much broader film library than Blockbuster (which focused on new releases.) In 2007, they launched a streaming platform as a bonus for their subscribers. It had a smaller film library and the movies constantly rotated. However, people quickly discovered that it was a far more convenient way to watch TV shows, with the term "binge-watching" entering the popular lexicon. In 2013, Netflix changed the TV landscape again by producing original content with House of Cards and Orange is the New Black. More relevant to this list, they launched their first animated original the following year with BoJack Horseman. It served as a transitional series for Adult animation, going from raunchy shock comedies to something actually mature.
