Whodunit refers to a sub-genre of Crime, which follows a detective's investigation as they try to solve a crime by finding clues and interviewing suspects. Whodunits usually revolve around homicides, but other crimes such as theft and kidnappings feature often. One of the most familiar aspect of a Whodunit is the revelation at the end, where the detective explains how they managed to figure out the culprit. The most famous detectives include Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot.
