World of Fantastic Films - Page 18

The titles presented here are all from Peter Nicholls' 1984 book "The World of Fantastic Films:An Illustrated Survey". From 1902-1983, U.S to the former U.S.S.R., Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror movies are shown in all their varieties. Giallo to junk, arthouse to popcorn epics, ballet even an opera(!)-something for everyone. I'd say 55% are horror, with zombie flicks making up at least half of those(other than "Warm Bodies" and "Zombieland", I don't care for that stuff). Some films I had to list under their alternate title, which is why it looks like they're out of order., for example "The Magician' is listed as "The Face" but that title is rarely used. Swedish title is Ansiktet.Or "Nippon Chinbotsu" AKA Japan Sinks, which I had to list as "The Submersion of Japan". Even though London After Midnight(1927 with Lon Chaney (sr.) is listed,it is a lost film. What has been shown on TCM is made up of stills, I don't recommend it except for die-hards & film majors.
