What Darya Read in 2024

Here are the works I read in 2024. Overall: 18 re-reads and 20 new reads. Absolute favourites: Pride and Prejudice, Chronicles of Narnia, Heart of Darkness, Painted Veil (re-read) and the Anne of Green gables series (re-read). One which I was also enthralled by was David Grann's The Wager, not so much for his commentary/analysis of events as for the true story of shipwreck he recounts. This year I did quite a bit of Christmas reading as well, my favourites being the Christmas Carol (re-read), Milton's nativity poem and Dostoyevsky's Beggar Boy at Christ's Christmas Tree. I also started brilliant works this year which I didn't quite finish, the most impressive probably being Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewicz.
