U.S. National Recreation Areas - Page 2

This is a list of national recreation areas in the United States. Sites #1-20 are administered by the National Park Service, #21-41 by the U.S. Forest Service, and #42 by the Bureau of Land Management. Lake Mead was the first national recreation area, established as Boulder Dam Recreation Area in 1936 before being renamed and designated the first national recreation area by Congess in 1964.
