Updated: Everything a Grumpy Gen X Geek Remembers Reading

To heck with "books to make you well read!" To turnips with "if you're read these you're a true {insert pompous noun}."
What did you LIKE? What did you have to read and never want to look at again?
What was on the required list one year that changed your life? How about something you picked up at a subway station book kiosk?
Yes I have read all of these books to the best of my memory, some titles--like the Old English poetry collections, for example, are taken from what's available to convey that I read the works inside them, even if under a different heading. Clearly I've not got anything to prove--and neither do you!!!
See something you haven't read? Try it out. It was fun or meaningful for 4, 6, 10, 15, 28, 25, 40, 44-going on prehistoric...etc year old me.
Sorry for any repeats--have those on me.
