Unipress' 50 Highlights in World Literature

This list is based on the book '50 værker - højdepunkter i verdenslitteraturen' (50 works - highlights in world litteratur) by Danish university publisher Århus Universitetsforlag. It lists some of the most infliential works in world literature in chronological order from Gilgamesh ca. 1200 BC to the Neapolitan novels from the 2010's.
In a few cases one book has been chosen of several mentioned in the book e.g. Forugh Farrokhzad that originally covered all her poems.
