Salt Lake City, Utah, United States of America - Crossroads of the West
Utah's capital and most populous city, Salt Lake City boasts a small-town feel, big-city amenities, and plenty of nature on its doorstep. It was founded by Mormons in 1847, and still serves as the headquarters for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Today, less than half of the city's population belongs to the LDS church, but Salt Lake City hosts several important Mormon buildings, which make up many of the city's attractions. The city's mountainous backdrop provides plenty of things to do outdoors, including hiking, wildlife spotting, and skiing, for those on vacation.
