This is a list of the 44 highest ranking films from 1944 on the new 2023 edition of the TSPDT Greatest Films list. "Double Indemnity" is the very first 1944 film on the list and #168 overall. "Double Indemnity" is one of the subjects of the upcoming May 27, 2023 meeting of The Saturday Film Discussion Group. We will also discuss "The Stranger" from 1946. We are a monthly film discussion group that was formed in SW Ohio in 2018. It works like a book club. You watch the film on your own time. We then meet monthly to discuss the film. We switched our meetings to Zoom in 2020, and thus can now accept members from anywhere.
