The Murrow Boys

Edward R Murrow was not just a legendary broadcast journalist, he was also a mentor to many promising young reporters whom he recruited for CBS in the 30's and 40's, many of whom would go onto distinguished careers during the golden era of network news. Stanley Cloud's book "The Murrow Boys" tells the story of Murrow, his proteges, and the rise and fall of broadcast journalism. (Conspicuously absent from this list is Water Cronkite. Per Cloud, Murrow and Cronkite hated each other, and that's the way it was.)
