The Library of America: Classic American Science Fiction of the 50s and 60s

Gary K. Wolfe's selection of 17 novels for inclusion in four volumes for the Library of America. As is usually the case with the LOA, the selections are insightful if somewhat surprising. Wolfe addresses this in his introductions, and answers the most obvious question - "Dune" and "Stranger in a Strange Land" were each excluded because of length. I have one or two minor quibbles (for example, I prefer "The Puppet Masters" to "Double Star" and I wish "A Canticle for Leibowitz" had been included); however, on the whole I think the selections are outstanding.
