The Films of Shane Meadows

British director Shane Meadows has filled the gap between the two genres of working class films that Britain is most famous for, cockney gangland / football hooligan farces and the northern kitchen sink drama. Making films predominantly set in the midlands, he has shown the rest of the world a different side to British film. The humour and grittiness are his strong points along with an always excellent soundtrack. His unique films are always worth a watch.
