The English Teacher's List of Great Historical Fiction - 2020 Update - Page 3

Our maverick English Teacher and genre enthusiast updates a previous list of great historical fiction. For the purpose of this list, he defines historical fiction as fiction that is consciously set in an historical epoch other than that in which the author is writing., and that makes a serious attempt at being historically accurate. Under this definition, "A Tale of Two Cities", for example, is historical fiction While "Bleak House" is not. It is for that reason that works like "The Grapes of Wrath" and the Sherlock Holmes series are not included.
