The English Teacher's Goodreads Book Chain for Halloween(??)

This did NOT go as our compiler expected. Apparently, Goodreads has a very different idea of what constitutes "Literary Horror" than he does. Still, he had to stop when "Old Yeller" appeared. That story horrified him when he was 8, and now, 63 years later, it still does. Thank you for the childhood trauma, Fred Gipson and Walt Disney.
