The fifty greatest western movies ever made as ranked by users of Rate Your Music (in future, Cinemos for films) with the following additional criteria imposed by me:
Minimum of 400 ratings (I had to reduce the total for this genre from 500, due to lack of movies with enough ratings - even at 400 there's some surprising classics that didn't meet the minimum requirement).
Must be a full-length movie. No shorts.
'True' westerns only - No Neo, Aussie, or otherwise. The setting must be the American Old West taking place no later than 1920.
