The list of films features only those which have stood the test of time, appealing to more than one generation.
The full selection of 49 films, published in the Radio Times today, has just two movies from the last ten years, with those made in the middle of the last century proving by far the most popular.
Mr Norman, who has worked as a film critic for the last five decades, said he had made his selection based on what people would want to watch again and again, with youngsters today enjoying them as much as when they were first made.
