The 250 Most Popular Movies - Page 7

This list is meant more to be a gauge of pubic tastes, based on audience and readers' polls, including the very recent Empire Magazine poll, IMDB 250, the TMDB most popular, Rolling Stone poll (2019), CinemaScore (2019), AMC poll (2016) Harris Poll Top 10 (2014), ABC News/People Magazine Top 5 (2011) as well as pre-2000 reader/audience polls from TimeOut, LA Daily News, and Mr. Showbiz. Also added in was Box Office Mojo's list of highest earning movies, adjusted for inflation. Used a rudimentary point system to assign points to films based on their list rankings - with a slightly decreased value given to the pre-2016 polls so as to lend more weight to more recent surveys. Around #150, the list relies more on just a couple of the aforementioned lists that were longer than 100 entries: movies from the last few years showing in this list have not had benefit of big picture/historic relative value - hard to see them still there in 5 years.
