The Eighties were weird, wonderful, and, in some ways, the beginning of The Modern Age. There will still elements of the 50's, 60's, and 70's, but it was setting the course for the 90's, 00's, and 10's. Looking back, there were a LOT more assassinations than I remember. There were some grim happenings and you can see some of the seeds being sewn for some of our present problems: terrorism, mass shootings, political attack ads, and more. But it was also a time of silly fashions, new music, and great comedies. They were my defining years.
