This is a list of 206 countries that satisfy the criteria of the Montevideo Convention, or are recognised by at least 1 other UN member state. It is comprised of: 203 states recognised by at least one UN member state, PLUS two states that satisfy the declarative theory of statehood and are recognised only by non-UN member states: Artsakh, Transnistria, PLUS one state that satisfies the declarative theory of statehood and is not recognised by any other state: Somaliland.
