This is a list of different kinds of shellfish that are eaten and dishes they are eaten in. There is no possible way for this list to be extensive, as there are so many varieties eaten in so many different places. According to Wikipedia, shellfish is a culinary term that refers to molluscs (including oysters, clams, and scallops), crustaceans (including shrimp, lobsters, and crabs), and echinoderms (such as sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and starfish). Molluscs further include cephalopods (octopus, squid, cuttlefish), bivalves (clam, oyster, scallop), and gastropods (slug, snail). This means that the group known as shellfish is extremely diverse and varied with too many species to list.
