Richard Chamberlain (born March 31, 1934) is best known for his numerous tv movies & mini-series-including the first version of "The Bourne Identity, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. First gaining notice as tv's "Dr. Kildare" in the 60's(winning his first Golden Globe), he's played Prince Charming, King Edward VIII, Tchaikovsky, a "Shogun"(another Golden Globe as well as an Emmy nom), as well as doing adaptations of 3 Dumas works-"The Three Musketeers(& 2 sequels), "The Count of Monte Cristo"(Emmy nom) & "The Man in the Iron Mask". He's been bad guys a few times-the cowardly son-in-law responsible for"The Towering Inferno", the murderous preacher in the remake of "Night of the Hunter", & most recently the voice an evil Allfather in "Justice League:Gods & Monsters". Also famous as the romantic priest in "The Thorn Birds"(winning his 3rd Golden Globe & nominated for an Emmy). Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.
