Pixar Animation Studios was founded in 1986 by Edwin Catmull, Steve Jobs and John Lasseter.
Pixar got its big breakthrough with the animated feature film "Toy Story", which was a huge success. It was followed by box office hits like "Monsters Inc.", "Finding Nemo", "Toy Story 2", "Toy Story 3", "Ratatouille" and many more.
Although Pixar is mostly known for their animated feature films, they actually started out with making short film and today every feature film is accompanied by a short film.
