"Park Chan-wook is a South Korean director born in Seoul in 1963. His third film "Joint Security Area" (2002), a political thriller, was a huge success in South Korea. He then directed what has become known as The Vengeance Trilogy consisting of "Sympathy for Mister Vengeance" (2002), "Old Boy" (2004) – which won the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival - and "Lady Vengeance" (2005). He went on to make "Thirst" (2009), one of his best-known films, and "Stoker" (2013), his first English language film".
