These are all the books I read in 2020. (I read very fast, and have a long commute when not homeworking.) How many have you read? Not just in 2020, but ever?
For best effect view the list in five columns (if possible - not sure that it is) to appreciate the categories - non-fiction, fiction other than sf, sf (by far the biggest), Doctor Who books, and comics. There is more sf at the end as the other categories run out.
Roundup here: https://nwhyte.livejournal.com/3568529.html
The book that had the biggest impact on me was non-fiction, Timothy Knatchbull's From A Clear Blue Sky, about the Mountbatten bomb in 1979.
Best non-genre book: The Mirror and the Light, Hilary Mantell.
Best sf: Exhalation, Ted Chiang.
Best comics: LaGuardia, Nnedi Okorafor; Mooncakes, Wendy Xu & Suzanne Walker
Best Doctor Who: All Flesh Is Grass, Una McCormack; Defender of the Daleks, Jody Houser
I absolutely do *not* recommend Sarah Cavanaugh's A Woman in Space!
